BiographyBorn in Chilliwack in 1963 and moved to Abbotsford as a 3 month old, Jim has been involved in the community for over 50 years. He knows the areas, the people and what makes the town tick. As a young boy, he attended many different schools. Centennial, Godson and Bakerview Elementary schools and even both of the only two high schools (way back when) Abbotsford Junior and WJ Mouat High (where he graduated). He also attended the Fraser Valley College (now the University of the Fraser Valley).
In 1986 he found the girl of his dreams. They wed in 1988 and since then have three wonderful boys...and a granddaughter! Jim mentions the bio will not be able to adaquately reflect all of his thoughts and memories of his family!
His working career started as many young children did with a paper route and subsequent job at the local (and only) McDonalds Restaurant. But then it took a turn to more of a hands on environment: helping dad manufacture, among other things, race cars in the JR Engineering shop. This was instrumental in shaping his skills for use in many other occupations, including, RV Mechanic, electrical, plumbing, propane, woodworking and metal fabricating jobs.
In his mid twenty's, and having had a touch of the Real Estate world from his grandfather (who attempted and failed as a developer in Chilliwack), Jim decided he needed to learn some other skills. Real Estate, sales and the financial world were his focus (especially after working the pelting season at a local Mink farm!).
With a certificate of completion for the Canadian Securities Course in hand Jim entered the world of finance with Trans Canada Credit. As Assistant Branch Manager after only one year at the high interest finance company, and learning the inner workings of high interest lending and the credit world, he was offered a Branch Manager position...out of town. Not what his plan was. It was time for him to gather some sales skills and he went into the RV industry as a salesman for Traveland RV.
After one successfull year of learning the trade Jim felt the need to get into a different sector of sales. After passing the Real Esate exam in 1989, he started his career in Real Estate at the local Re/Max office in Abbotsford. In April 1991, Jim and some partners started their own Real Estate company called Landmark Realty Corp. A company dedicated to the succss of their Realtors. It did not take long and this new company became the top office in the entire Fraser Valley Real Estate Board!
Built by Realtors, for Realtors, Landmark Realty Corp. has maintained their status as the Premier Real Estate company in the Fraser Valley (if not all of B.C.). As an individual, Jim Rempel, has maintained membership in the Medallion Club (top 10% of Realtors) for an astounding 20+ years and continues to this day working hard for all his current and future clients.
While Real Estate is his profession, his passion is his family and his fun is working with his hands. |
